Mask By-law Webinar: Support for Local Business Owners and Operators

Halton Regional Council passed Regional by-law 47-20, making it mandatory to wear a mask/face covering in certain enclosed public places, with some exemptions. The by-law is in effect as of 12:01 a.m. on July 22, 2020 until 11:59 p.m. on November 30, 2020, unless extended by Regional Council.

To support business owners and operators prepare for the new by-law, you are invited to attend an informative webinar hosted by the Halton Region Small Business Centre. Participants will hear from Dr. Hamidah Meghani, Halton Region Medical Officer of Health, Kelly Yerxa, Halton Region Senior Legal Counsel and Jing Bo Yu, Halton Region Assistant Corporate Counsel, on a variety of topics including:

  • Public health guidance on the use of masks and face coverings;
  • What the by-law means for business owners and operators; and
  • Resources available to support businesses.

The event will also include an opportunity for Q & A and registrants will also be able to submit questions in advance.
