Canada is recognized as having one of the strongest food safety systems in the world. Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is revising the Preventative Control Plan, a food-related risk-mitigation plan required for most food producers doing $100,000 or more in annual gross sales. CFIA will reduce unnecessary administrative burden on businesses by replacing 14 sets of regulations with one, and will help maintain and grow market access for Canada's agri-food and agricultural sector.
New regulations for food and beverage processing go into effect starting January 15, 2019. Learn more here.
